Albania in general and the right wing in particular have extraordinary personalities with a high public and professional level, but unfortunately they are not and cannot be part of the bunkerized DP!
It is enough to look at who the speakers are, who the deputies are who unfortunately represent the DP logo to understand why it cannot be an alternative and why it does not and cannot win the elections!
It does not take great science to understand why the DP has ended like this, because it is enough to look and listen to those who represent it!
We do not deal with the Opposition, because we no longer have the latter! We deal with the latter, because this should be the only hope for a better future!
Someone thinks that we should deal with the Position! This is actually useless and does not bring us anything new! It is as if Albanians criticized Enver Hoxha or Ramiz Alia for not opening the system and why they did not democratize it, when in fact they had written in the Constitution "Dictatorship of the Proletariat".
Everyone knew that Enver Hoxha and Ramiz Alia could not be different and could not be alienated! The only hope of Albanians in the early 90s was the rise of citizens for more freedom and this happened! Do you know why it happened? Because, then there was hope that something better would come after the evil had reached its maximum!
Why doesn't it happen now? Because, this Opposition, tried several times, unfortunately does not inspire hope!
The lack of hope and the great and constant disappointment has made citizens powerless towards politics and unfortunately they have followed the path of abandonment and departure!
We must deal with the Opposition until it returns to the height of its true mission of being a governing alternative!
Time seems to have passed quickly and perhaps those born after 2000 do not even remember the protests of the winter of 1998! Those were difficult times, the Boulevard of the Martyrs of the Nation had no lights at night, there was no street lighting or decorations for the holidays, the streets were muddy and potholed, Albanians were mostly dressed in used clothes, but every evening the DP of that time started the march from the center to the Prime Minister's Office! The cries were monotonous and used: "Nano go"; "Freedom Democracy", "Sali Berisha, Sali Berisha"!
I don't know why today's protest reminded me of the atmosphere I experienced as a teenager! In fact, since then I was thinking about how to leave Albania and many others left with me continuously even when Berisha came to power and when he said he would leave power!
The protests of the cold, dark evenings of the winter of 1998 came to mind, because from the news reports I saw, I understood that most of those who accompanied Berisha at that time were in the square, of course now older, tired and dressed in used clothes again! Time seemed to have stood still, because in their psychosis they live in the same dimension as those of 1998 with the difference that then it was the honorable Nano and today they have Rama in front of them and meanwhile Berisha is always there and by their side, although a few years older and with different situations! Back then, Berisha was considered a hero, because he had survived '97 and had the high morale to continue his battle! While today, most people do not know what a real battle he is fighting and what he is doing for!
What a disappointment they associated and supported him with poverty, he came to power, left and now he will return again but they are back in poverty! Of course, excluding those who are his inner circle who benefited as much as they wanted and were rewarded with power and privileges!
The protesters seemed so original and unchanged in time that I am sure that if you ask them what year they expect to celebrate, they will answer: We are waiting for the New Year 1998! Time for it seems to have stopped between illusions, nostalgia and despair turned into monotony!
