60 kg of marijuana seized at the Greek-Albanian border, 18-year-old arrested

The trafficking of a significant amount of drugs was prevented by officers of the Narcotics Department of the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes in Igoumenitsa, arresting a Greek citizen this morning, against whom a criminal case was opened for drug trafficking and transportation.
Specifically, regarding the chronology of the case, police officers located in the Sajadha area, near the Greek-Albanian border, as part of targeted checks, a private car owned by a car rental company, driven by an 18-year-old Greek.
During the subsequent police search, three bags were found and seized in the luggage compartment and rear seats of the vehicle, which contained a total of 55 packages of marijuana, with a total weight of 60 kg and 565 grams.
Since September, Greek police have seized around 835 kg of marijuana suspected of coming from Albania. The cases have been identified in Igoumenitsa by land and sea, as well as in Ioannina, Thessaloniki and Kos.
