Drones and missiles strike oil port and airport in United Arab Emirates

Flights at Dubai International Airport were temporarily suspended on Monday after a fire broke out near the airport following a drone incident. Authorities reported that some flights were delayed while others were canceled.
According to the BBC , another major fire broke out at the strategic port and industrial area of Fujairah after a drone attack. The port is one of the largest oil storage centers in the region and is of great importance for global energy trade.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, the country's air defense systems destroyed six ballistic missiles and 21 drones on Monday. Since the start of the war between the US and Israel on one side and Iran on the other, Tehran has launched more than 1,900 missiles and drones towards the Emirates.
Monday's attack is the third incident near Dubai airport since the conflict began. Dubai airport is considered the world's busiest for international passengers, so the recent incidents have also hit the country's image of security and stability.
The UAE's energy sector has also been targeted. A drone hit an oil storage tanker on Saturday, while another attack on Monday hit oil facilities in Fujairah. Oil loading activities at the port were temporarily suspended to assess the damage.
Fujairah is located on the east coast of the Emirates, on the Gulf of Oman, rather than the Persian Gulf. This means that ships heading to this port do not need to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic point that is often tense in the region.
Oil industry experts say Fujairah's location makes it a key hub for global energy supplies, especially if the Strait of Hormuz is blocked. Oil from fields in Abu Dhabi could be transported via pipelines to the port and exported to international markets.
