NAMES/ Parliament announces vacancies to replace three members of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania

The Economy Committee met yesterday during the plenary session and announced three vacancies for members of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania. 

The members whose mandate has expired are Violeta Staka, Artan Hoxha and Luljeta Minxhozi. Minxhozi is both the Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Council and the First Deputy Governor of the Bank. 

The Supervisory Council is the highest decision-making and supervisory body of the Bank of Albania and consists of 9 members.

All members are elected and appointed by the Assembly for a 7-year term, with the right to re-election. 5 members are proposed by the Assembly, 3 by the Council of Ministers and 1 by the Supervisory Council.

Artan Hoxha has been a member of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania since December 2018.

Luljeta Minxhozi has held the position of First Deputy Governor of the Bank since January 9, 2019, and has been a member of the Bank's Supervisory Council since December 2018.

Meanwhile, Violeta Staka has been a member of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania since December 2020.
