Heatwave: Scotland and Northern Ireland record highest temperatures of the year so far

In Scotland, 29 degrees Celsius was recorded at Fyvie Castle in Aberdeenshire, which is the highest temperature recorded this year so far.
The highest temperature ever recorded in Scotland was 34.8 degrees Celsius in Charterhall, Scottish Borders, in July 2022.
In Northern Ireland, temperatures reached 28.1 degrees Celsius in Katebridge, County Down, which is also the highest so far this year.
