Trump: Iran presented an improved proposal, they offered a lot but not enough

US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that Iran had submitted an improved proposal, but that it still did not meet Washington's expectations.

His comments come shortly after the decision to cancel sending a US delegation to Pakistan for a new round of talks.

According to Trump, Tehran submitted a new offer just minutes after the mission was canceled.

"They gave us a document that was supposed to be better and, interestingly, as soon as I canceled it, within 10 minutes we got a new document that was much better," Trump told reporters on Air Force One.

Asked for more details, he added: "They offered a lot, but not enough."

Developments between the US and Iran continue to remain tense, while the parties appear to be still far from a final agreement.
