Tragic accident in Lezha/ Victims: 52-year-old doctor and his medical student daughter

Other details have emerged from the serious accident that occurred yesterday evening on the Lezhë-Gjader axis, in the area called Gocaj.
Official sources confirm that Dr. Anton Keçi, 52 years old, Head of Health at the Lezha Penitentiary, as well as his 20-year-old daughter, Bora Keçi, a second-year student at the Faculty of Medicine, have lost their lives.
According to preliminary police information, it is suspected that the vehicle left the road and ended up in a canal, which led to its overturning and fatal consequences.
It was the family members who, concerned about the lack of contact with their family members, began searching for their relatives.
The investigation team continues to work to determine the causes of the accident, while loss of control over the vehicle is not ruled out as one of the main causes.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Prisons has reacted through a statement, expressing its sorrow for the loss of one of its employees.
The response states that Dr. Keçi had served for about 6 years in the penitentiary system with dedication and professionalism, leaving behind high praise from colleagues and leaders.

With deep sorrow we announce that on 25.04.2026, in the evening hours, on the Lezhë-Gjader road, in a place called Gocaj, as a result of a tragic accident where the vehicle left the road, Dr. Anton Keçi, 52 years old, Head of Health at the Lezhë Prison, as well as his 20-year-old daughter, a second-year student at the Faculty of Medicine, lost their lives.
Dr. Keçi served with dedication for about 6 years in the penitentiary system, leaving behind professional and human appreciation among colleagues and all those who knew him.
In these difficult moments, we express our most sincere condolences to his family, colleagues and relatives. We stand with his wife and son, sharing the great pain of this untimely and irreplaceable loss.
