Building collapses in Tehran, people trapped inside rubble

A three-story residential building collapsed in the Yaftabad neighborhood of Tehran, the capital of Iran.

Jalal Maleki, a representative of Tehran's fire department, said four people had been pulled alive from the rubble and the search operation was continuing.

Emergency services were called to the scene.

The first floor of the building houses office space and construction work is reported to be underway near the collapsed building.

The causes of the incident will be determined based on the results of the investigation.
