"Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi's words to Wittkoff and Kushner at the Geneva meeting" have received the attention of foreign media, following the launch of attacks by the US and Israel against Iran.
In its article, NBC News writes that; The meeting between the delegations of the United States and Iran in Geneva, where Tehran's nuclear program was at the center of discussions, was accompanied by strong tensions and verbal clashes.
Also according to NBC News, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi raised his voice during the talks towards US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, as well as Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who was present at the meeting.
Citing a senior official, the report states that Araqchi insisted that Iran has an "inalienable right" to enrich uranium and challenged the American side to state whether the US had an "inalienable right" to stop Iran.
"If you prefer, I can leave," Witkoff reportedly told the Iranian minister, while the American delegation then briefed President Trump on the developments. According to sources, quoted by international media, the head of the White House did not hide his "shame" and disappointment with the way the talks took place.
Just a few hours later, the situation took a dramatic turn.
At 2:30 a.m. (UTC), Trump posted a video on social media announcing the launch of "major military operations" against Iran.
