US freezes hundreds of millions of dollars in cryptocurrencies owned by Iran, Bessent: We will hit the regime's financial lines

The US Treasury has announced that it is expanding what America calls Operation "Economic Fury" against Iran.
Scott Bessent, President Donald Trump's Treasury Secretary, has just announced new measures targeting the Iranian economy.
He said the US would "continue to systematically degrade Tehran's ability to generate, move and repatriate funds."
The main new measure appears to be the sanctioning of a number of cryptocurrency wallets with ties to Iran, which the Treasury says will freeze $344 million in cryptocurrencies.
"We will pursue the money that Tehran is desperately trying to get out of the country and we will target all financial lines linked to the regime," Bessent adds.
