The Supreme Court overturns Rama's conviction, Gledis Nano is awarded 100 million lek in damages

The Supreme Court has put an end to the case of the dismissal of Gledis Nano from the position of Director General of the State Police with the signature of Edi Rama.
After Nano's victory in the first two instances, the government took the case to the Supreme Court, but the latter left the previous decisions in force.
This means that Gledis Nano will ultimately be compensated by the state with 100 million Lekë because his dismissal from office was deemed illegal.
We recall that Gledis Nano was dismissed from office on August 31, 2022, at the proposal of former Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi, while Prime Minister Edi Rama had publicly stated that he had requested her resignation.
The official reason for his dismissal was "failure to achieve objectives." A decision that Gledis Nano considered illegal and took all legal steps for compensation, receiving 100 million old lek from the state, or 60 monthly salaries, equal to the 5-year term he was supposed to remain in office.
