NATO summit/ Merz to host Macron, Meloni, Starmer and Tusk in Berlin tomorrow

Ukraine and the preparation of the NATO summit, which will take place on July 7 and 8 in Ankara, are the main issues that will concern the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom tomorrow in Berlin.

It is learned that the Secretary General of the Atlantic Alliance will also be present, via videoconference. 

Foreign media report that the focus of the consultation of European leaders will be the continuation of providing support to Ukraine in light of the initiatives announced during the last G7 summit, as well as the decisions taken within the so-called alliance of those ready to assist Kiev, offering it strong security guarantees.

The leaders of the five states will also discuss the issues that will be at the center of the discussions of the upcoming NATO summit, focusing their attention on coordinating actions regarding security issues on the European continent.

These consultations will also provide the opportunity to intensify initiatives towards a stronger Europe within the framework of the Atlantic Alliance, starting with the development of European defense capabilities, the Elysee statement said.
