Flights between Australia and New Zealand are canceled due to rising fuel prices, the airline responds: We ask for understanding

New Zealand's Jetstar Airways has canceled some domestic and international flights, citing rising fuel prices due to the conflict in the Middle East.
The airline said about 12% of flights during May were affected, including routes between Auckland and cities such as Christchurch, Wellington, Sydney and Brisbane.
According to the company, most passengers have been offered an alternative to travel on the same day, while the schedule changes are considered temporary. In a statement, a company spokesperson stressed that the decision is related to rising fuel costs for aircraft and other growing economic factors.
"We apologize for the inconvenience and thank customers for their understanding ," the official response states.
The impact of rising energy prices is also being felt in other regions. Vietnam Airlines has canceled almost two dozen domestic flights a week due to concerns over fuel prices and supply. Airlines in Myanmar have also reduced their flight schedules.
