Alarm on the coast of Sri Lanka! Submarine hits Iranian frigate, at least 101 missing

An Iranian submarine has attacked an Iranian warship off the coast of Sri Lanka, leaving at least 101 people missing and 78 injured, navy and defense ministry sources told Reuters on Wednesday.

Sources said at least 101 people are missing and 78 injured in the attack on the IRIS Dena frigate.

Earlier, local authorities spoke of the rescue of 32 "seriously injured" sailors aboard the Iranian frigate, about 40 kilometers south of the island, while the Defense Minister indicated that the ship had sunk. The frigate with 180 crew members had sent a distress signal at dawn.
