Murder of businessman Edmond Mëhalla, verdict reached for two accused 

The Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan has today imposed the security measure of "prison arrest" on the two accused for involvement in the murder of businessman Edmond Mëhalla. The decision was given by the President of the Court, Judge Elis Dine, after a session held under tight security and behind closed doors.

The Elbasan Prosecution Office, through the prosecutor of the case Gjergji Ceka, has submitted the official request with the object of "validating the arrest in flagrante delicto and imposing a security measure" for the first two detainees, Xhino Ago and Kujtim Pisha. The request was registered on Thursday, while today, from 10:00, it was reviewed in the courtroom under the presence of numerous security forces.

Meanwhile, the Prosecution has filed a separate request for security measures for the third arrestee, Nevzat Spaho, detained in Prrenjas and suspected of being the businessman's executor. His hearing is expected to be held over the weekend.

Investigations to fully uncover the organization and execution of the murder of Mahalla continue with intensity, while other developments are expected in the file that has shocked public opinion in Elbasan.
