Yamal is firm: I don't want to be Messi, I will follow my own path

In an interview given on CBS's '60 Minutes' show, Barcelona talent Lamine Yamal spoke about several topics, while also focusing on comparisons with Lionel Messi.
"Messi is the best in history. We both know that I don't want to be Messi. I want to follow my own path, and that's it.
Where I grew up, the fields we played on had, let's say, walls where people would sit, and I think there was no better feeling than making them stand up, laughing at the opponents. I think it's the best feeling in the world, and it's something that reminds me a lot of when I play on the field and the fans stand up because they're surprised by something I did.
There are people who have told me that they have started watching football again because of me. My mother now watches all my matches. People here had stopped wearing football shirts at school and now this trend has returned. Even tourists, here in Barcelona, are buying Barcelona shirts with the number 10 on the back. It makes me understand a lot about what I have achieved.
An 18-year-old guy comes out of school and goes home, while I go to training and four paparazzi are at my house asking me about my life. I turn on the TV and I'm on the TV. I was walking down the street and I saw a guy wearing my shirt. I want to go out for a drink and I can't because people will stop me. But it doesn't bother me. In fact, I like it," Yamal declared.
