Trouble with Adejemi's law, the attacker blames Loredana: I don't have

Karim Adejemi has been in the spotlight over the past year not for what he has done on the field of play, but for what he has done off it. The German striker for Borussia Dortmund ended up in court and had to pay a hefty fine of almost half a million euros after it emerged that he had purchased equipment that is considered a weapon, without having a permit for them.

In the second episode of the new Amazon Prime documentary "Loredana & Karim - Love & Drama", the player himself shed light on the order he had purchased online.

"Karim was on vacation and came with me to the DSDS shoot. I called Ben and asked him to pick up the packages," recalls singer Loredana, the Dortmund star's wife. However, unbeknownst to Adeyemi's best friend, the box ordered on TikTok contained a hood, a blade, boxing gloves and other small items, so it was immediately seized by police at the airport.

“I brought the packages to the airport as they were. I was standing in front of the police officer and I saw: a hood, a big blade, a pair of finger guards and a few other small things. I thought to myself, ‘This can’t be real,’” Adeyemi says. “It was a box on a website where I already knew what it could be inside. It was a hunting site or something like that. From finger guards to a small pocket knife. It could have been anything, a mystery box, so to speak,” the 24-year-old explained.

According to Adejemi, the reason for buying such things came from a protective instinct towards his partner, who is in the spotlight as a singer.

"If I'm alone and someone wants to attack me, let them, but not my family. People don't understand: I don't have a normal wife. I have a wife who is a rapper. To me, a person in the spotlight should be able to protect themselves. My thinking was: if I can order it, it can never be illegal," Adejemi said.
