Paris Saint-Germain will not take to the pitch in Munich just to defend their 5-4 first-leg win over Bayern Munich. Parisian coach Luis Enrique made it clear in his press conference that his team's only objective remains victory and securing a place in the grand final in Budapest.
"Our goal is to win. We have done a very good job so far, but now we have to give something more to reach the final," declared the Spanish coach on the eve of the decisive challenge.
Enrique stressed that he expects a match similar to the first one, giving the opponent maximum praise: "To achieve this, we have to beat Bayern, a sensational team. I don't believe that the match will be any different from the first one, because neither team accepts being inferior to the other. This could bring a great spectacle again."
According to him, the clash between the two strongest teams currently in Europe will be of the highest level and will be decided by the details. "It is an exciting scenario for everyone. Both teams have the same objective and this makes the challenge even stronger," he added.
The PSG coach also focused on the minimal advantage of the first leg, warning his players not to underestimate the situation: "We have a small advantage, but that doesn't mean anything. Both teams had their moments and everything remains open. It will be very important to control emotions."
Finally, Enrique also recalled the success of a year ago in the same stadium, but stressed that this does not affect the current motivation: "It's a nice memory, but it doesn't give us additional motivation. We are already at our maximum."
