Berisha: Media owners, super-mafiosi of free speech

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during his speech at the 'Foltore' with the democrats and supporters of the Democratic Party of Albania (DP) branch 5 in Tirana, once again attacked the media owners who, according to him, have turned into strategic investors.

He emphasized in his speech that these are the free speech mafia.

' The owners are declared strategic investors. They receive extraordinary favors. The owners, somewhere nearby, receive 4500 square meters of land for 1 euro like Bolino receives, land donated by Tirana nobles, Tirana families, for a high school because the community did not have a high school there. They are given to the owner of the media.

And then they tell me, aren't these mafias? These are super-mafiosi and these are the most dangerous mafias because they are the mafias of free speech,' said Berisha.

Excerpt from the speech of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha:

A very serious problem is the captured media.

More than anything else, I value free speech, freedom of thought, in myself.

That was our dream during the dictatorship, to be free.

It was synonymous with our dignity, because we didn't have it.

Today, 90 percent of the media is controlled by the government.

Owners become strategic investors.

The owners, on Lubia's orders, you saw the files, took tens of millions from the roads. That's why the roads were expensive. Your taxes, 20 million kilometers because it was divided between the minister, the media owner, between this and that, and they took your money.

The owners are declared strategic investors. They receive extraordinary favors.

The owners, somewhere nearby, get 4500 square meters of land for 1 euro like Bolino gets, land donated by Tirana nobles, Tirana families, for a high school because the community didn't have a high school there. They are given to the media owner.

And then they tell me, aren't these mafia members?

These are super-mafiosi and these are the most dangerous mafiosi because they are the mafiosi of free speech.

These people reproduce the news in series, ERT broadcasts it, everyone picks it up and repeats it.

Even if the average citizen doesn't believe it, they are disgusted.

This means he is numb.

He loses sensitivity to what is happening.

And the government wants this. And now they're attacking us by telling us... no journalist has ever been addressed by me and they won't be attacked.

But taking on notorious criminal analysts like Idajet Beqiri, is there a greater insult?

A disgraced man convicted in several court cases of rape, theft, terrorism, etc., and he in the studio...

You don't see it, you turn your head away, but that turning of the head means losing interest in the truth.

He wants citizens to gain indifference.

Analyst Bolino exposes a thief in boots who takes 4,500 square meters of land for 1 euro to cheat from breakfast to dinner on behalf of Edi Rama.

What do you say? Should we not stand up to them?

I will stay until the last minute of my life.

We are for media freedom, we are and we will be.

We are for the independence of journalists and fully respect it.

Happening now...
