Fine after the match with England, AFF reacts to FIFA's decision: It undermines our effort

The Albanian Football Federation has been fined 2,250 francs for the throwing of objects by some fans during the match against England. This match ended with a 0-2 victory for the hosts at “Air Albania”, while the Group K matches for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers also concluded.
Despite the symbolic fine, the Albanian Football Association has issued a statement. "Each isolated episode undermines our common effort to rank among the best, not only on the field, but also on the steps of the stadiums," it reads, among other things.
AFF's reaction:
“The FSHF announces that the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has imposed a fine of 2250 Swiss francs in relation to the Albania – England match, as a result of the throwing of objects by some fans. Although this fine is smaller compared to the heavy sanctions of some previous matches, it remains a penalty for the Federation, for the fans, for the players and for everything that our football represents. Our objective is clear: stadiums without any violations or incidents, a necessary standard to avoid penalties and to be among the most respected fan bases.
Correct behavior in stadiums must be consistent in both domestic and international matches. Any isolated episode undermines our shared effort to be among the best, not only on the field, but also on the stadium steps.
The dedication of our fans in recent matches has been clearly demonstrated. The support, positive energy and atmosphere at Air Albania have reflected a more measured behavior and in line with European standards of fair play. The audience has shown a noticeable increase in discipline, while problematic episodes have significantly decreased.
Although the situation has improved, Albania's current ranking of 50th in the UEFA Fair Play classification shows that there is still room for improvement. Recent matches have shown that Albanian fans possess the maturity and level required to create an orderly and modern atmosphere. These behaviors clearly reflect that our public deserves a higher position, reflecting a real, visible and indisputable potential.
The Albanian Football Association believes that the Albanian fan base has the potential to rank much higher, at a level that suits the values and support it gives to the team. Every match is an opportunity to express not only passion, but also responsibility that honors the players and the country. With careful behavior and consistent support, the red and black fan base can become an example of discipline and sports culture, strengthening the image of Albanian football in every stadium where the National Team plays.
