Speak like a Bavarian: Luis Diaz presents himself at Bayern Munich with the wrong number

The cameras are rolling again at the Sebener Strasse - even more often than usual. Bayern are back from their short summer break and the Munich team now has their "dream player", Luis Diaz, in its ranks.
Wearing the wrong number, the Colombian appeared on the training pitch on Thursday morning alongside Joao Palinga, wearing the number 20 shirt (he usually wears number 14). Unlike his young teammates, Diaz joins the Bayern squad in excellent physical shape, having already completed three weeks of pre-season training with Liverpool.
He was recently on tour in Japan with the Reds, while Harry Kane and the others were enjoying their break after the Club World Cup. Diaz will make his first appearance at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, when Bayern host Lyon in a pre-season friendly. “Bueno,” the third most expensive player in the history of the Munich club began in Spanish at his first press conference, uttering some of the phrases usually heard at such presentations. He was obviously very happy to be at such a big club now.
"I was welcomed very warmly." Diaz has not yet had time to fully settle in and has not been able to get advice from former Bayern player James Rodriguez. "But we continue to talk," assured the player, who is expected to bring speed, dribbling, assists and goals. "It became clear very quickly that Luço wanted to come to us," said sporting director Max Eberl. "We were only focused on Luis. He knows how to achieve success."
In Liverpool's last league season under Arne Slott, Diaz contributed 13 goals and seven assists in the Premier League; similar statistics would be a big help for Bayern. "I'm living a dream here," Diaz said. "I want to enjoy football. I always have a smile on my face."
The former Liverpool player took some advice from young Liverpool player Florian Wirtz, who famously didn't want to become a Munich resident. "He told me the Bundesliga is very intense, physical and of course different to the Premier League. The stadiums are always full. He told me Munich is a very nice city and I'll enjoy it."
