Alban Beqiri is declared the champion of the Balkans, raises the Albanian flag in Serbia

Albania has closed its competition in the 2024 Balkan Boxing Championship, a competition held in Loznica, Serbia.
The red and black representative in this activity was formed by nine boxers, who competed in the categories for adults (2), for young people (2) and for juniors (5).
Alban Beqiri scored another great result, being declared champion of the Balkans for the second time in his career, triumphing in the 71 kg weight category.
Beqiri, who also holds the highest international score in the history of Albanian boxing, as the only medalist in a world for adults, showed an excellent form by winning three duels in the Balkan, to be declared champion.
The 30-year-old Red and Black successfully passed the first match, defeating the Serbian opponent Igor Rogič, then followed with a victory and premature closure against the Albanian boxer of North Macedonia, Anis Ali.
Further in the final, he found the Ukrainian Matiakubov, world runner-up and European champion.
Beqiri closed the accounts in the second round, deserving the gold medal, to raise the flag of Albania in Serbia to the highest step of the podium.
Alban Beqiri appeared very happy with the result and his appearance in the Balkan, commenting on the success achieved: "I am very happy that for the second time in the Balkan boxing championship I achieved the highest result after that of in 2021, bringing Albania a gold medal for 2024 and on the eve of the November 28-29 holidays.
I am very proud to raise our national flag in Loznica, Serbia, again in such an important period for us", said the boxer from Tirana.
For adults, Chris Bush also excelled, who won a silver medal in the 63.5 kg weight class.
While moving to the ages, the highest result was achieved by Besian Karaj, who won a gold medal, being declared the champion of the Balkans in the 71 kg weight category for young people.
Stephen Xixi recorded a bronze medal for juniors in the 54 kg weight class.
In the junior category, Kristian Jubani received silver medals in the 48 kg weights, while Riduan Gashi (66 kg), Jurgen Lazri (63 kg) and Ardit Deliu (50 kg) received bronze medals.
Fifth place for Jurgen Tresa in the 70 kg weight category.
