Shpat Kasapi's passing, his brother speaks: He was in Italy with his family

The premature death of singer Shpat Kasapit at the age of 40 was shocking for family, friends, and the public.

The butcher was in Italy with his wife and their 4-year-old son, for a medical check-up for their son, when he suddenly felt unwell and passed away late on Tuesday.

In an interview, his brother, Albini, said that first aid was given to him at the apartment, but he could not survive. He said that so far it is suspected that the cause of death was a cardiac arrest.

In a serious state and shocked by the news, he said he was hoping that the news that came from Italy was not true, but unfortunately his death was confirmed.

Asked if the singer had any health problems before, his brother said he had some minor heart problems, but nothing serious.

His body is in Italy, and procedures are expected to be completed to return him to his family.

Artist Shpat Kasapi was born on May 1, 1985 in Tetovo, North Macedonia. Over the years, he has become known and loved for his pop-folk songs. He began his musical career at a young age, where after several presentations at children's festivals, he won first prize at the "Bletëzat 98" festival in Tetovo at the age of 13.

The first successes that represent a bridge from children's to adult singing were the presentations and first prize at the Songs of the Season 2002 festival in Tirana, the audience prize at the Nota Fest 2003 festival in Skopje, and the audience prize at Albafest 2003 in Skopje.

Immediately after this, he won other awards at several festivals in Albania, including the award for best performer at "Top Fest 1".

Shpat Kasapi has so far released several successful and well-received albums, such as "Tash po Kthehesh", "Medikament", "Axhamiu" (2003), "Do te veni ëne dite" (2004), "Pa ty s'jetoj" (2005), "Kush të ndau prej meje" (2006), "S'e pramon" (2007), "Medikament" (2010).

The artist will be missed by his family, friends and relatives, the Albanian scene and the public.
