Ten days before her death, Princess Diana revealed what she truly regretted in her life

Shortly before her death, Princess Diana reportedly shared a candid and bitter reflection with a close friend about her famous Panorama interview. The biggest burden for her was not what it revealed about her life or her separation, but the impact it had on her two children, William and Harry, then just 15 and 12 years old.
According to her friend Rosa Monckton, Diana felt the interview had hurt her sons. She admitted she did it because she didn't know how else to handle the pressure and her vulnerability made her vulnerable to journalist Martin Bashir.
The landmark 1995 interview, watched by millions of viewers around the world, was full of personal revelations about her marriage to Charles and the struggles she faced, such as bulimia. She herself had famously said the phrase about the presence of a third party in her marriage, referring to Charles's affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. By then, the couple had already separated, with the divorce coming in 1996.
Several years ago, an investigation revealed that the journalist had used deceptive methods to obtain the interview. The BBC publicly apologized and pledged not to broadcast it again, while Princes William and Harry have spoken openly about the pain the interview caused them.
Rosa described Diana as a woman who kept everything she had experienced inside and felt regret for the impact on her children's lives. Both princes have said that the interview significantly affected their relationship with their mother and their lives in general.
