Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez choose the location where they will hold their wedding

Cristiano Ronaldo is making waves both on and off the pitch. The Portuguese superstar, 40, has chosen the island of Madeira, his birthplace, as the location for his wedding to fiancée Georgina Rodriguez. The wedding is expected to take place in 2026.

This marks a break from tradition. Typically, couples exchange vows in the bride's homeland, in this case, Argentina, or in Spain, where Georgina grew up and where the couple first met.

But Ronaldo is putting a personal stamp on the event, returning to his roots for the big day.

The couple's relationship began in 2016, when Georgina, then 31, was working at a Gucci store in Spain. They kept their relationship private for a year before making their first public appearance together in 2017.

Over the years, they have built a family with two children together, Alana Martina, 7, and Bella Esmeralda, 3, while Ronaldo is also father to Cristiano Jr., 15, and 8-year-old twins Mateo and Eva Maria .
