Appearing in SPAK for "January 21", Topi: The ruling party has been hiding behind hypocrisy for 15 years

Former President Bamir Topi, who appeared a few days ago at SPAK regarding the January 21 case, has stated that he is confident that justice will uncover the truth about the serious event of 2011.

According to him, the investigations are progressing properly and the institutional climate seems different from that of previous years.

Topi stressed that all the people who were responsible at that time are being summoned by SPAK. But according to him, the main problem lies not with justice, but with politics.

Topi has stated that after 15 years of politics, especially the Socialist Party, has hidden behind hypocrisy.

" Clear signs have been given for some time that this problem, which has been going on for 15 years, has been taken up by justice and will do its job. I can confirm this. Based on my experience, it seems that the situation is different now with the commitment of justice. The people who led during that period have been called and are being called, the investigation of January 21 is going as planned. 

I feel and I have faith that justice will investigate to find the truth. What I see that is missing has nothing to do with justice, but with politics. It has to do with one of the most delicate moments, which has to do with the investigative commission that was established in January 2011 and I want to say it tonight. I saw in that period a feverish commitment to a pathological level of those who established the commission and I saw an absolute lack of commitment from those who made the protest of January 21.

What more can I say about politics, which I could have made a lot worse with a single term, but I can't say it. It's been 15 years, where are those obligations and commitments that those who are in power today, didn't take even a single minute to return to January 21. The issue is the only investigative commission that has had its mandate extended twice and is the only one that doesn't have a final report.

People need to know, these politicians are smart, they make commitments, they take others who fell victim, others were injured. At least politically, get out of the hypocrisy of placing those flowers on the sidewalk and do your duty as a politician and come back politically. January 21st had two sides. I don't talk about the investigation, I have respect. I can't get into that."
