"Berisha is the very person who destroyed the opposition," said former president Bamir Topi in an interview on "This Week" on News24.
During his interview, former President Topi also spoke about the situation of the opposition. Topi said that everything has become worthless and the Democrats have been betrayed.
"The lowest level is when you think of a political position as a job, where you have benefits, salary, work, influence. This is the greatest betrayal that has been done to Democrats," he said.
He was critical of his approach towards DP leader Sali Berisha, saying that he has stifled every free voice.
"Berisha is the very person who has systematically destroyed the opposition. Every free voice that has attempted to come out has been extinguished. Even the maneuvers to work with leaders of other opposition parties who have a life that is there like Berisha are an attempt to monopolize a system. The same thing happens on the other side, they have the same characteristics. Politics is linked to power. The leader is very important, but the leader in a democratic formation. The problem is not that you have monopolized a party, but you have monopolized a system. Don't you think that these opposition people don't have benefits?
