EU Council: We support and encourage SPAK and the courts against high corruption, to stop the interference!

The Council of the European Union, composed of foreign ministers, has issued a detailed report on the Western Balkan countries. In the section on Albania, it is noted that the only substantial progress comes from the Justice and in particular SPAK and GJKKO.
" The Council underlines the importance of the independence of the judiciary, including the Specialized Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Structure (SPAK), and of further strengthening the resistance of the justice system against internal or external interference. It also recalls the importance for Albania to ensure effective judicial protection and consistent enforcement of judicial decisions. The Council welcomes the progress that Albania has made in the fight against corruption and organized crime and invites it to further build on a strong track record and strengthen its capacities in addressing these issues.
The Council welcomes the good results already achieved by SPAK and its courts, including in high-level corruption cases. The Council also welcomes the good cooperation with EU and Member States' law enforcement agencies, which should continue, including cooperation in financial investigations. The Council reaffirms that strengthened controls and consolidated capacities to protect the EU's financial interests are important," the report states, among other things.
