Former student of December/Democrats of Branch 7 in Tirana, elect engineer Gjovalin Syla as chairman

On Saturday evening, (May 9, 2026), the election process for the chairman of the DP Branch in Unit No. 7 in Tirana ended.
After counting the votes in the race with Redi Skënder, the winner was engineer Gjovalin Syla, a former student of 8 December who joined the Democratic Party in the first days of its establishment.
Gjovalin Syla is known among the Democrats of Unit 7, but also throughout the capital, as an anti-conflict and unifying figure. Even in the platform he presented to the Democrats when the mayoral race opened in April, Syla advocated overcoming the divisive period within the DP and uniting for a single goal; the return of the party as a governing alternative as soon as possible.
" Each of us has felt that we have gone through a period of division that has left its mark, but at the same time has shown us how much value unity has among us. Your contribution over the years is the foundation of this organization and no one should feel left out or unappreciated."
Today we do not need more division. We need a new spirit of unity, dialogue and mutual respect. My vision is clear: to restore trust among us, strengthen cooperation and create a climate where every member is heard, valued and included in decision-making.
"To make this possible, I need your support and trust ," Gjovalin Syla wrote, among other things, in his platform to lead the Democrats of one of the largest and most important electoral districts in the capital.
