Testimony in The Hague/Clark: Thaçi was not responsible for the KLA

Wesley Clark was asked by Thaçi's lawyer about the meeting with Commander Çeku and local KLA commanders on the issue of demilitarization.
He was asked if Thaçi had limited influence over local commanders, and he answered yes.
"I remember seeing Thaçi. He was well dressed, he looked more Western than the others.
"It didn't look like he had been in the mountains fighting for a year or two. It was clear he wasn't in charge there, he wasn't in command there," Clark said.
" He [Thaci] was there. He was one of the people I knew best."
I hadn't met Çeku before. But I couldn't deal with him through Thaçi.
"He was not responsible," he added.
According to him, the KLA was not an organized army, but had groups of fighters at the regional and local level "who had gathered to protect their communities."/ REL
