Taxes/ No salary less than 80 thousand lek in construction, whoever declares lower will be checked

If a construction firm declares salaries lower than 80 thousand new lek for its basic employees or less than 160 thousand lek for a crane operator as the highest salary, then it will be considered suspected of under-declaration and will be subject to inspections.
A document drafted by the country's Tax Administration is the indicative salary list for the construction sector, which sets the minimum salary for each profession in construction. The Tax Directorate says that special attention will also be paid to attempts to change an employee's profession at the time of declaration.
Taxes call on every business to accurately declare employee salaries, warning of administrative measures.
"In the framework of the implementation of the construction sector plan and the increase in social security payments in order to increase pensions, the Tax Administration informs all taxpayers in this sector that the salaries of employees declared in the payrolls of this sector will be analyzed. To assess the risk of taxpayers who avoid the real payment of employees' salaries, the analysis will have as a comparative element the indicative salaries of professions in the construction sector according to the table attached to this announcement.
"Attention. Any taxpayer whose declared employee's salary, for the above-mentioned professions or similar ones, is below the indicative salary level, and who changes the profession in order to be categorized in the lower salary, will be considered at risk and will be subject to control by the specialized structures of the Tax Administration ," the Tax Administration announced.
The list of indicative salaries in the construction sector starts with 80 thousand lek for professions such as plasterer, repairman or duralumin worker, from 85-95 thousand lek for plasterers, tilers, painters, welders and others, up to administrators, technical engineers and crane operators who will not declare less than 140 to 16 thousand new lek.
This list is approved at a time when officially declared salaries in construction are on average around 68,400 new lek, while in reality they are very high and are paid in cash.
The wage control scheme in construction is the same as that in tourism, where salaries for service workers were set in June./ Shqiptarja.com
