Evi Kokalari seems to be the first rival of the current leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha. She announced her participation in the May elections through a status on social networks, where she writes:

"Sali Berisha, please add my name to run against you in the May 23 elections.
As a reminder, my name appears in court as one of the founders of the re-establishment, which was the reason for Lulzim Basha's takeover of the DP.
In fact, it should be noted that I am a co-founder of the Re-establishment with you.
Any vote manipulation, I promise you, will be reflected and documented in the US State Department. "
