Distribution of year-end bonus for retirees begins today

From today, December 1, 2025, pensioners will be able to withdraw their year-end bonus. Even though it is an official holiday, post offices will be open.
According to the Social Security Institute, the bonus of 15 thousand lek will benefit over 540 thousand people, such as the elderly who receive up to 20 thousand lek in pension, disability pensions, family and social pensions, as well as several other categories of pensioners.
While the bonus of 10 thousand lek will benefit over 221 thousand individuals, such as people who receive a pension of over 20 thousand lek, people who receive early retirement, or beneficiaries of special financial treatments.
The year-end bonus can be withdrawn throughout the month of December, while for those who are unable to do so during this period, the deadline for withdrawal is until June 30, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Finance, about 7.6 billion lek have been allocated to the pension scheme, of which an additional 5.9 billion lek for the fund dedicated to the year-end bonus for about 750 thousand pensioners.
The government has also foreseen that starting in January next year, there will be a gradual monthly increase in pensions, beyond the usual annual indexation.
