25th Anniversary of Accountants, Fino: BMP contributed to the growth and strengthening of the profession

The Institute of Chartered Accountants (IKM) celebrated its 25th anniversary, gathering at the event personalities from the economy and politics, who expressed their appreciation, role and importance of the accounting profession.

The President of the Institute of Accountants, Sotiraq Dhamo, stated that over the years, IKM has made an important contribution to the evolution of the accounting profession.

The Chairman of the Public Oversight Board, Mr. Dritan Fino, stated that the accounting profession faces new challenges that require vision, investment and rapid adaptation.

"The use of new technologies, the automation and digitalization of processes; the need for new analytical and digital skills, as well as global competition and increasingly higher standards, are some of the challenges of the accounting profession ," Dritan Fino emphasized in his speech.

During the panel discussions, it was learned that the project "Strengthening the Quality of Auditing and Reporting in Albania (SQARP)" has had an impact on strengthening the supervisory role of the BMP and a more structured standard in accounting functions and services, such as "Forensic" (investigative accounting).

Former Minister of Finance Arben Malaj considered the role of accountants important in the era of artificial intelligence.

While the chairwoman of the economy committee, Milva Ekonomi, praised the role of accountants, she asked them to provide their assistance in the fight against informality.
