President Trump and Al-Sarrah spoke on the phone about the rights of Syrian Kurds: Priority, their protection within the country

Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara and US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation today, where they discussed the latest developments in Syria and the situation of the Syrian Kurds, the Syrian presidency announced.
According to the official statement from Damascus, both sides emphasized the need to guarantee the rights and protection of the Kurdish people within the Syrian state, also agreeing to continue cooperation in the fight against the terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIS).
During the conversation, Trump and Al-Shara underlined the importance of preserving the unity and independence of Syrian territory, reaffirming their commitment to the country's stability.
The talks come a day after the Syrian government signed a full integration agreement with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Sunday. However, despite the agreement, tensions on the ground continued today, according to official sources.
