US and Russian presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin held an hour-long telephone conversation on the international situation, starting with Iran.
Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov called the conversation between the two leaders "candid and constructive."
According to Ushakov, the conversation between the two leaders focused on two key issues in the international arena, the war in Iran and the war in Ukraine.
"Putin kept the emphasis on Iran and negotiations on Ukraine, and Trump reiterated interest in a quick ceasefire and a long-term solution in Ukraine," Ushakov explained, according to Tass.
He added that the leaders of the two countries also discussed the issue of Venezuela, and expressed their willingness to maintain regular contacts with each other.
