Israel kills new Hamas leader, terror in Gaza for Eid al-Adha

Israel claims to have killed the commander of Hamas' military wing, Mohammed Odeh, in an attack in Gaza on Tuesday, days after his predecessor was killed in a similar attack.
At least 3 Palestinians were killed and dozens more were injured in a wave of intense shelling that targeted a residential building in the center of Gaza City, in an area crowded with citizens shopping for the Eid al-Adha holiday.
The IDF and Israeli intelligence said the building that served as Odeh's hideout was hit after tracking his movements for months. According to Netanyahu's office, Odeh was one of the architects of the October 7 massacre. Despite the ceasefire reached in October, Israel has launched a series of deadly attacks in Gaza.
In parallel, Israel has also significantly intensified its bombing campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon, where at least 31 people were killed in recent attacks, including children.
The Israeli military says it has hit more than 10 Hezbollah infrastructure and terrorist sites in the heaviest wave of bombing since the ceasefire was declared in mid-April.
The escalation of military action came after Netanyahu said he had instructed the army to press the pedal even harder in striking Hezbollah.
