Israel kills senior Hamas commander Raed Saeed, one of the "architects" of the October 2023 attack

The Israeli military has killed senior Hamas commander Raed Saed, one of the architects of the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, in a car attack in Gaza City on Saturday.

Saadi was targeted while driving along the coastal Rashid Road. He was killed along with three others.

Saad served as head of Hamas' weapons production headquarters and was considered second in command to the terrorist group's last military chief, Izz al-Din Haddad.

Israel believed Saadi was at Gaza City's Shifa Hospital when the army raided the medical center in March 2024, although he managed to escape at that time.

He has survived several assassination attempts by Israel during the war, including one in June 2024.
