Iran continues blockade of the Strait of Hormuz

Militarily, the mullahs' regime in Iran is weak compared to the US and Israel, but it is using the Strait of Hormuz as a powerful weapon. The damage that the Iranian regime is causing to the world economy is enormous. The blockade seems set to continue.
According to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz cannot be lifted independently of the Israeli and US war against the Islamic Republic. He stated that he had informed UN Secretary-General António Guterres about this, he wrote on the Telegram messaging service.
Aragchi also called on the international community to condemn the attacks on his country. The speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Bagher Kalibaf, even hinted that there would be permanent control of the strait. The crucial link between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, vital for global oil exports, can no longer be the same, Kalibaf said in an interview broadcast on state television. The US and Israel have made a strategic mistake, he said.
Meanwhile, Iranian forces have launched a new wave of rockets at targets in Israel, according to Iranian state radio. A missile alert was issued in Israel.
Meanwhile, the Iranian ambassador to Moscow has denied media reports that the Islamic Republic's elected supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is in Russia for medical treatment, according to the Russian news agency TASS. Khamenei was injured in US and Israeli strikes last Wednesday./DW
