Supplying weapons to criminal organizations in Europe, EUROPOL strikes Turkish trafficking network, 10 arrested!

French authorities, with the help of Europol and the Swiss Federal Police (Fedpol), have dismantled a criminal network suspected of trafficking counterfeit and converted firearms from Turkey to European Union countries.
The operation took place between June 8 and 11, 2026, and led to the arrest of ten suspects, while searches were carried out at seven luxury homes in southern France.
The case began in June 2025, when authorities discovered two imitation pistols hidden in a luxury car traveling from Switzerland to France. The investigation subsequently uncovered an organized network composed mainly of Turkish nationals, led by a suspect of Turkish-German origin.
The operations were carried out in the cities of Fréjus, Cannes, Nice and Marseille. In addition to the ten arrests, authorities seized assets with a total value exceeding 1.2 million euros.
The seized items include modified and imitation weapons, three luxury cars, expensive watches, jewelry, designer clothing, large sums of money, forged documents, small amounts of drugs, mobile phones, computers and approximately 30,000 euros in cash.
Investigators believe the network made significant profits from supplying weapons to criminal groups in various European countries.
The alleged leader of the organization was arrested in Slovakia and extradited to Turkey in early 2026. However, authorities believe that he continued to run the network through associates operating in various European countries, despite being in custody.
