The ultimatum to Iran is about to expire. Is Trump thinking of a way out?

President Donald Trump may be considering a way out to reduce war tensions with Iran, just as his deadline is approaching its expiration, A2CNN reports.
The White House announced on Tuesday that Trump is "aware" of a proposal from Pakistan to extend the deadline for an ultimatum to Iran by two weeks, with the aim of paving the way for a temporary ceasefire between the parties.
According to the BBC, the proposal, which has not yet been officially confirmed, calls for a two-week ceasefire and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic key for global oil trade. Negotiations would then follow to finally end the conflict.
However, during a statement to the media, Trump avoided giving specific details on the talks between the US and Iran, limiting himself only to stating that the parties are engaged in "heated negotiations."
The decisive hour is approaching. Trump has given Iran until 8:00 p.m. to reach a deal, warning that failure to do so will result in an attack that, according to him, would destroy the country's bridges and power plants.
His rhetoric has further hardened, as he warned that " an entire civilization could be wiped out " if an agreement is not reached, a statement that has sparked strong reactions in public opinion and in the international arena.
Now, as the deadline ticks down, the pressure on Trump is mounting: Will he choose the path of diplomacy, or will he carry out the threat of escalating the conflict? The world awaits the answer.
