Trump's Iran deadline/ Pakistani Prime Minister proposes 2-week ceasefire, White House reacts
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the warring parties to respect a two-week ceasefire to "allow diplomacy to bring an end to the war" in a post on X.
He has also called on US President Donald Trump to extend his Iran deadline by two weeks and for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz during that two-week period.
Following the Pakistani Prime Minister's proposal, the White House's reaction was not delayed either.
The White House said President Donald Trump has been briefed on the two-week ceasefire proposed by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to allow diplomatic negotiations between the US and Iran to continue, adding that "a response from the president will follow."
"The President has been briefed on the proposal and a response will follow," White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt told CNN in a statement.
