British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney, has resigned.

International media reports that Morgan McSweeney has resigned from his role as the Prime Minister's chief of staff.

Many MPs blamed him for appointing Peter Mandeslon as US ambassador.

Mandelson was sacked from that position in September but has come under further pressure following the new Epstein files, which allege he shared confidential information with the convicted sex abuser when he was business secretary.

The files have raised questions about Keir Starmer's judgment in appointing Mandelson to the top diplomatic position.
