EU fines "X" platform, Rubio: Attack on the American people

A new clash between the European Union and the United States has erupted after the European Commission's decision to impose a fine of 120 million euros on the "X" platform, owned by Elon Musk, for violating the Digital Services Act (DSA).
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reacted sharply to the decision, calling it "an attack on the American people by foreign governments."
" I see the $140 million fine imposed by the European Commission not only as an attack on the X platform, but as an attack on all American technology platforms and on the American people by foreign governments ," Rubio wrote in a post on Musk's own social network.
Rubio added that "the era of censorship of Americans online is over," describing the EU's intervention as an attempt to exert control over free speech online.
According to the Commission's announcement, the fine was imposed for violations of transparency obligations, including the misleading use of the "blue mark", the lack of transparency in advertising and the failure to provide researchers with access to public data.
