Progressive increase in salaries for the State Police, Lamallari meeting with students and trainees of the Security Academy: Your generation is entering a system that is changing

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Besfort Lamallari, held a meeting with students and trainees of the Security Academy, with a focus on financial treatment, professional evaluation and institutional support for this important security force. During the conversation, Minister Lamallari emphasized the progressive increase in salaries for State Police employees, especially for the lowest ranks, describing this increase as incomparable with the inherited situation.
"The fact is that, since we began governing Albania, salaries for the State Police have seen a progressive increase at every level, with significant improvements, especially in recent years. This is not just a statistic, but more motivation for the officers, more security for their families and more quality in service to citizens. Just taking as a reference the lowest salary levels: in 2014, a State Police inspector was paid 44,500 lek. Today, an inspector receives 65% more, or 73,500 lek. On the other hand, a deputy commissioner, from 65,500 lek in 2018, has benefited from an increase of 34%, reaching today 88,000 lek, while the salary of a commissioner has increased from 72,000 lek to 97,385 lek," said Minister Lamallari.
He stressed that, although this improvement represents a more dignified treatment compared to the past, it is not sufficient and requires continued reforms and investments. In addition to the indexation of salaries, Lamallari underlined that the provision of food for State Police employees has also become a reality, a legal obligation that has remained unimplemented for many years, which now guarantees concrete support for each employee.
"This means more dignity, more motivation, more stability for your families and more reasons to practice this challenging profession with pride and dedication. Your generation, as future officers, is entering a system that is changing, improving and being valued more than ever before. Albania needs this new generation of professionals, who will advance security and trust in the state," said Minister Lamallari.
He added that the investments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are not limited to the financial aspect, but also extend to increasing professional status, improving working conditions and the use of modern technology in the service of security.
"We cannot claim to move forward in the European integration process and close the negotiation chapters with the European Union without properly appreciating and supporting security workers," concluded Minister Lamallari.
