After about two hours in the prosecutor's office, Benet Beci leaves SPAK

The Mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, left the SPAK premises after about two hours.

Beci has been formally indicted by SPAK on charges of violating equality in tenders, along with seven of his subordinates. Earlier, he was summoned by prosecutors, where he provided explanations regarding the case under investigation.

Benet Beci previously served as the director of the Regional Development Fund and, for several years, as the director of KESH. He left this position in 2021, when he ran for deputy of the Socialist Party in the Shkodra Region.

In the local elections of May 14, 2023, Benet Beci was elected mayor of Shkodra.
