The health condition of the Princess of Norway worsens

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway is expected to undergo a lung transplant after her health condition deteriorated in recent months.
According to the BBC , medical tests carried out during the autumn showed a clear worsening of her disease, pulmonary fibrosis, a disease that makes breathing and oxygenation of the blood difficult.
According to doctors at Oslo University Hospital, the point is being reached where a lung transplant will be necessary.
The royal palace also announced that Mette-Marit has an increasing need for rest and controlled exercise, while her official engagements will be adjusted to her health, although she has expressed a desire to continue her duties.
Crown Prince Haakon said the princess seems fine when she is resting, but is increasingly having difficulty breathing during physical activity, has less energy and is getting sick more often.
Mette-Marit, 52, has been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis since 2018. Doctors stressed that a lung transplant is considered a last resort and is only performed in severe cases, due to the risks involved in the intervention.
