After the Supreme Court's decision, 7 former officials arrested by SPAK and GJKKO want to be released from detention
Seven former police officers and a former employee, arrested at the request of SPAK, submitted to the Special Court a request for the replacement of the security measure, following the unifying decision issued by the Supreme Court on "prison arrest".
Among the arguments for mitigating the measure is the reasoning of the United Colleges, which require the lower levels to consider other milder measures, such as deprivation of liberty, as a last resort, and place the burden of proof on the prosecution for the need for "prison arrest."
Among the officials requesting the easing of security measures is former minister Ilir Beqaj, who, along with the unifying decision, has also offered a 20,000 euro property guarantee.
Also, following the Supreme Court's decision, a request for a replacement measure has been submitted by the former head of IKMT, Mariglen Qato, the former administrator of UBT, Edmond Tërthorja, and the former director of Lezha Police, Henerigert Mitri, reports Tv Klan.
For the latter, the Special Court dismissed the request, arguing that the practice of the Supreme Court, related to the replacement of security measures, has not changed and it requires that the person who initiates the court bring evidence that the conditions have changed and he can be investigated in a more lenient manner.
