After 5 years of silence, Adele lights up the internet with the album '35'

Adele surprised fans with the announcement they had been waiting for years, while a post by the singer went viral on social media.

The post showed the 38-year-old British music icon announcing a new album titled 35, with the caption: " Now that you're getting new music from me, will you finally leave me alone?"

The post caused chaos on social media, with fans holding their breath in anticipation, however, the announcement also raised doubts among fans – given the Skyfall hitmaker's current retirement from music.

Followers quickly double-checked Instagram and in fact the Grammy Award winner had not posted such an update.

The "Set Fire to the Rain" hitmaker is still on her hiatus, which she had planned after completing her Las Vegas concert, "Weekends with Adele," in November 2024.

The excitement on social media quickly turned to sadness as fans reacted to the fact-check, writing: "Adele, see this? People really want you to come back with the new queen of music" and "No, we won't leave you alone."

A third wrote, “Enough with the harassment.”

While social media experienced a wave of excitement and then disappointment, Adele has not responded to the rumors.
