Over 175 kilograms of narcotics have been seized on the border between France and Germany, during an operation carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Office in Strasbourg. Four people have been placed under investigation and taken into custody, the Strasbourg Prosecutor's Office announced.

The operation took place on February 5, 2026, when police stopped a truck traveling between Spain and Germany. During the search, 158 kilograms of cannabis and 11 kilograms of cocaine, destined for the French and German markets, were found in the trailer.

Following the investigations, checks carried out in Strasbourg and Mulhouse led to the seizure of approximately 7 additional kilograms of cannabis and approximately 3 thousand euros in cash.

According to Strasbourg prosecutor Clarisse Taron, the operation is the result of a 14-month investigation, which aimed to identify import networks and the people responsible for cross-border drug trafficking.

Among those arrested is a 51-year-old Albanian citizen, suspected of being the organizer of the narcotics import network. All four people have been placed under investigation for violating narcotics legislation and have been remanded in custody, while the procedure continues under the authority of the investigating judge.
